These are the longest journeys in the North and the region with the fewest options. Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and Teesside between them hold a genuinely distinctive acting culture and almost nothing that films it.

It is also a region casting has started paying real attention to. Regional specificity is in demand in a way it was not ten years ago, and North East voices are part of that — but a casting director in London has to be able to see and hear you before any of that helps.

Our standing advice for the whole region: book the hour. The travel is identical whether you film one monologue or three, and £100 more is the difference between a fragment and a reel that lasts you two years.
